The Law Society of Singapore Hosts UK Inner Temple Delegation for Collaborative Exchange
The Law Society of Singapore was honoured to host two distinguished guests from The Honourable Society of the Inner Temple today – Mr Justice Michael Soole, Treasurer of the Inner Temple in 2024 and a High Court Judge (King’s Bench Division), and Greg Dorey CVO, Sub-Treasurer of the Inner Temple.
They were warmly received by President Lisa SAM Hui Min, Nicholas Narayanan, Samuel Chacko, Lawrence Teh, Ronnie Tan, and Peter Ong Lip Cheng – all proud members of the Inn. Discussions centred on common challenges facing the legal profession in Singapore and the UK, including membership, support for young lawyers, attrition, and access to justice. The potential for future collaboration in areas such as training and mentorship was also explored.
The Honourable Society of the Inner Temple is one of the four prestigious Inns of Court in London, responsible for calling barristers to the Bar and providing legal education and training.
This visit is part of Mr Justice Soole’s trip to Singapore and Malaysia, and we are deeply privileged to have had the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue with him and Mr Dorey.
